Mortgage Loan Originator
Prairie Community Bank is a privately owned and independently operated community bank located in Marengo, IL with 2 locations. We strive to provide high quality, personalized financial services in the communities we serve, while maintaining high ethical standards with unparalleled customer service.
We are seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Originator with experience. This position entails the ability to develop and maintain relationships while meeting the mortgage related needs of customers in the community. This position will also have the ability to work remotely, as well as any of our office locations in Marengo, Union and Elgin. We offer competitive pay and benefits.
Attracts new mortgage loan applicants, while retaining existing mortgage customers.
Informs prospective clients of the underwriting guidelines.
Maintain knowledge of underwriting criteria.
Take loan application and/or assist applicants with online application process.
Works with loan processor to ensure each mortgage loan application is processed in a timely manner.
Coordinates closings with all parties involved.
Maintain NMLS License.
Build rapport with other bank employees to increase cross-sell opportunities for other Bank products.
Develop relationships with community businesses and other clientele to obtain referral sources.
Liaison between Bank and wholesale mortgage companies.
Consistent sales activities to meet production requirements
Adhere to applicable compliance regulations to ensure honest, ethical and legal practices
Active involvement with community organizations
Attend and participate in loan meetings
Analyze each loan application to determine credit worthiness and appropriate loan products – explain to customer the various product options and terms
Communicate professionally with clients, loan operations staff and bank personnel.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong listening skills, excellent customer service skills and ability to build customer relationships.
Ability to resolve customers issues by providing effective solutions.
Ability to work in a team through collaboration.
Must be self-motivated with ability to work independently and able to multitask effectively.
Ability to work evenings, early mornings and Saturdays with a flexible schedule.
